The Death Star Human Resources Department Newsletter: March 13, 2026
A very unlucky Death Star HR for Friday the 13th
Hello there
Hey everyone, welcome back to the Death Star Human Resources Department Newsletter. It’s a quick one this week. The last few weeks have just gotten away from me. But, I wanted to send something out so this week we’ve got an extended “This is Where the Fun Begins” and an extended “News of the HoloNet.” I’ll be back next week with a fully armed and operational Death Star HR.
As always, thanks for reading Death Star HR. If you’re reading this and you’re not a subscriber, I’d love it if you entered your email below and smashed that subscribe button. There’s also an official Death Star HR Instagram and an official Death Star HR YouTube page as well and I’d love it if you subscribed there as well.
This Is Where The Fun Begins
Lot’s of memes this week. First one and the most topical, from V1-DE0-F1O. Uncle George has been vindicated.
I once speculated that somehow came of age during Vietnam and lived through Watergate, Lucas really wanted to write a political thriller but knew the fanbase would revolt if there weren’t lightsabers.
This Is Where The Fun Begins, Pt 2
From an old friend, the proprietor of Ord Mantell’s only Irish pub.

Honestly I prefer the theory that Care Bear are Ewoks who dropped acid.
This Is Where The Fun Begins, Pt 3
From old friend Darth Vo. Probably need to come up with a better nickname for him.
Are the Younglings still doing 6-7 or have they stopped now that all us old folks are aware of it?
HAVEN’T POSTED THIS IN A WHILE, BUT THERE HAS BEEN AN INFLUX OF NEW SUBSCRIBERS (WELCOME, GLAD YOU ARE HERE!) SO IT’S WORTH REPEATING. THE OFFICIAL SPOILER POLICY OF THE DEATH STAR HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT NEWSLETTER IS TO POST SPOILERS. IT IS TOO DIFFICULT TO DISCUSS UPCOMING STAR WARS MEDIA WITH IT, SO IF YOU’RE DETERMINED TO GO INTO THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU BEING COMPLETELY SPOILER FREE, YOU MAY WANT TO SKIP THE FIRST FEW STORIES LINKED BELOW.
News From the HoloNet - Expanded Edition
So far the newish trailer hasn’t been on any official channels. It’s basically a cut down version of the trailer we saw a few weeks ago with a couple new, blink and you’ll miss them, shots. Noah Kloor (whose last name sounds like a Star Wars planet) previously worked on The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett.
More new Mando and Grogu news. The big article in Empire has come out, and while it’s not officially online yet, the contents are already online. Also, Grogu is in trouble!
Sharing strictly for the headline.
The Next ‘Star Wars’ Book Sets the Stage for the ‘Andor’ Revolution
“Mask of Fear” was a top tier Star Wars book. Can’t wait to see what “Edge of the Abyss,” the next book in the Reign of the Empire Trilogy has in store. Pretty good chance it will hit a lot closer to home than we’d all like.
Prince of Wales hands Warwick Davis his OBE
Through the transitive property, does this mean that Wicket the Ewok is now Sir Wicket?
Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic PS5 Remake Gets Official Update
“We’re working on it” is technically an update. I guess. Better than an official cancellation I suppose. Looking forward to it’s eventual release on the PS12.
Remembering the 30-year-old computer game that introduced me to Star Wars
Shadows of the Empire is a fun game. But what I really want to highlight is this paragraph from the author talking about growing up in a conservative Christian household.
“My parents were committed to controlling which movies, books, and music I could consume, but for whatever reason, there was almost no oversight on the video games I played. I couldn’t watch Star Wars, but I could play Doom.”
For those of you not familiar with Doom, you literally fight demons that have transported from Hell to Phobos, one of the moons of Mars.
Canceled Star Wars Game Is Now Playable for the First Time After 13 Years
Call of Duty but in Star Wars sounds like fun. I had thought the Battlefront games were the Star Wars version of CoD. But as I’ve said before, in my book KOTOR and KOTOR II are the pinnacle of Star Wars gaming so I have no clue what came after that.
Oga’s Cantina at Disneyland Reopens After Timeline Change Refurbishment
Galaxy’s Edge isn’t “officially” changing the timeline until the end of April, but at least Oga’s Catina is getting a head start. Does this mean drink prices will tied to what they were 40 years ago, before Mon Mothma’s runaway inflation drove up the price of Juri Juice.
The Mandalorian And Grogu Is Teasing A Fan-Favorite Villain
All the strip-mining of the Expanded Universe for content and they still can’t bring back Mara Jade?
That’s it for this week. If you like what I’m doing, please subscribe. I’ll catch you next week, and may the Force be with you.
Thank you for reading The Death Star Human Resources Department Newsletter. This post is public so feel free to share it. It is your destiny!

To think we made fun of the premise of The Phantom Menace… and here we are. :/
On the Harrison Ford soundtrack story, the comment on Bluesky of “Allie McBeal getting railed to Yub Nub on the soundbar” had me laughing until I cried today, especially since I knew someone during my pro writing days who confessed that he was sick of his girlfriend playing it.
