I did a big Darth Jar Jar explainer a while ago. Unfortunately, unless the chance to waterboard the truth out of Uncle George arises, I think I just have to accept that OBVIOUSLY Darth Jar Jar is real, but everyone at Disney/Lucasfilm is too cowardly to tell the truth.
Josh Hartnett would have made a better version of Jacen/Ben Solo in my opinion. Too bad the movies weren't produced in the early aughts when Hartnett was the heart-throb of the day. I think it's also easier to digest him as Harrison Ford's offspring than Adam Driver.

Yeah by the time 2015 rolled around, his moment had kinda passed. But you’re right. He does more look the part than Driver does.
