The Death Star Human Resources Department Newsletter: September 13, 2025
The Rise of the Link-O-Rama
Hello there
Good morning and welcome back to the Death Star Human Resources Department Newsletter. Just a little note that for the next few months, your weekly Death Star HR will probably be a little shorter than normal. Part of this that there’s really not a whole lot happening in the Star Wars world right now. I’ll doubt we’ll get a real media ramp of for The Mandalorian and Grogu until after the new year. Part of it is fall is always busy for me. Like this week in particular. Given the combination of the two, not a ton of news and me having a pretty busy week, today we’re just doing a Link-O-Rama, a roundup of whatever might be happening in the galaxy far, far away.
As always, thanks for reading Death Star HR. If you’re reading this and you’re not a subscriber, I’d love it if you entered your email below and smashed that subscribe button. There’s also an official Death Star HR Instagram and an official Death Star HR YouTube page as well and I’d love it if you subscribed there as well.
This Is Where The Fun Begins
This might have been more appropriate last week as it would have just been a few days after the anniversary of his passing, but I already had something scheduled. I couldn’t find any additional information about if Jimmy Buffett was actually a Star Wars fan, or he just happened to be in London at the same time they were filming Rise of Skywalker and thought he’d come pop in.

I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a “Parrot Head” but I am a long time fan of Buffett. He was someone who we’d often listen to in college. One of my favorite memories (albeit a hazy one) from law school were the couple times a big group of us road tripped to Chicagoland to see a show. OK maybe I am a Parrot Head. Really, a guy like Buffett would have fit right in in the Star Wars universe. The wise, old smuggler with a heart of gold and maybe a hint of menace. He could have played Tobias Beckett, Woody Harrelson’s character in Solo. Or even better, he would have been perfect as a pirate in Skeleton Crew.
News From the HoloNet
‘Andor’ Wins 4 Emmys on First Night of Awards
Andor took home 4 Emmys for:
Best Production Design for a Narrative Period or Fantasy Program
Best Fantasy / Sci-Fi Costumes
Best Editing for a Drama Series – “Who Are You”
Best Visual Effects
What’s better, an Emmy or deep substrate foliated kalkite?
Natalie Portman should return to Star Wars. But not as Padmé.
While I would like to see Padmé return if for no other reason than her character was wasted in Revenge of the Sith, bringing her back as Sabé would be a fun way to see Portman and Christensen together again.
Inglourious Basterds But Make it Star Wars
I’m honestly not sure I can put into words how badly I want to see this series. Kleya was absolutely the secret weapon of Andor and anything that brings back Dedra is OK by me.
Revan Returns Next Week for LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past
Does ‘Star Wars’ Have a Saw Gerrera Problem?
I agree with the author that Star Wars doesn’t really know how to use Saw. I always wondered if Andor had been able to execute their 5 year plan, there might have been more room for Saw.
'I have you now!': Darth Vader's lightsaber from 'Star Wars' sells for $3.6 million at auction
Sadly, I did not win the Powerball. Otherwise this would have been mine.
I love this idea so much. Come on, Mel!
Jim Cummings Hints At More Hondo Ohnaka To Come
I really thought we might get a cameo from Hondo in Skeleton Crew. It seems too lat e for him to show up in The Mandalorian and Grogu in any meaningful capacity. So not sure what he’s going to do.
My rational brain knows having Luke Skywalker show up was just using nostalgia to score cheap points. My lizard brain thought it was absolutely amazing. As always, the lizard brain wins.
Mara Jade Is Returning to Star Wars Canon According to New Theory After Shocking Movie Casting
As much as I’d like to see this happen, I am skeptical. Uncle George famously hated Mara Jade. On the other hand, Skeleton Crew made The Holiday Special canon, so anything is possible.
That’s it for this week. If you like what I’m doing, please subscribe. I’ll catch you next week, and may the Force be with you.
