Curious how the official release date is different than here in France. Here it was released the 20th. Anyway, the standalone part of the movie is the reason I was disappointed. This is a Star Wars movie and in my opinion it should improve or expand the entire lore. Now, I had the feeling that I wouldn't have missed anything not seeing it. It had its awesome and funny moments but on overall I think they should have just made a season out of it. There was no character growth and the plot was pretty simple and predictable. Having Sigourney Weaver in it was a big plus, but they could have expanded more on her character.
I'm so behind on Star Wars. So many shows decided to come out at once, and I am struggling. I'm only one episode into Maul, but I did manage to see Mando and Grogu. I was a bit underwhelmed with the movie, but I still thought it was good. Felt like a pair of two-parter episodes with a higher budget. The score was fantastic, Grogu was cute, and Mando kicked butt. I also really like Rotta because it was something new! My final thought is that maybe Filoni should stick with shows and someone else do movies.
Why do I do this to myself? I'm currently a little over halfway through Pokémon, and even with watching it at 2x speed, it will take like 5 months for me to finish! And then there are like 27 movies! Gah.

I mean, I know you’re backed up because you have to watch every show 3 times with 5 notebooks and 2 spreadsheets open.
And I really liked Rotta as well. I was not expecting him to turn out the way he did. Long live Stinky!
