Thanks for shouting us out and sharing the candle I really regret not buying! (I was too afraid I’d kill my family) I learned so much on that excursion to a vintage toy store. Example: if a Yoda figure has the snake and staff you can charge $65. (My brother used to chew on them. Little did he know) If not: $20
I also have yet to visit Galaxy's Edge. I really want to build my own lightsaber!
My brother is a very casual fan. He went to Disney with his family a few years back, so I got to hear about how awesome it was and that I should really go sometime. Brought me back a really nice die cast Millennium Falcon.
I was in SoCal for Thanksgiving and thought about going to Disneyland for a day trip. It's such a racket. I think it was $200 for tickets, plus gas, food, etc.. And then it's $220 to do the build your own lightsaber. I was looking at probably $600 for the day. I will say, parking was reasonable at $30. I had to pay $40 at the Stars game last month.
Woah, first mention of pubes in Star Wars What a find, hahaha. I also love Matt Berry, What we do in the shadows is one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. He is on my short list of who I would love to see be cast as the Doctor in Doctor Who.
I have, like, an infinity unpopular star wars opinions. Hell, my fan fic histories practically revel in sticking knives in sacred cows, most recently that Lina Soh was George W. Bush in space 🤣
But I think my favorite one so far is that Luke Skywalker had zero to do with blowing up the Death Star. Yes, he and other rebels relentlessly strafed what they thought was a weak spot. But that just shot up a non functional ventilator shaft. What ACTUALLY happened was it had never been tested at planetoid wrecking strength, and the destruction of Alderaan blew out half of its safety systems including several failsafes. This news did not make it up to Tarkin and Vader because who wants to tell Darth freaking Vader um sir u just bricked this moon size space station? Thus, when the firing sequence started against Yavin 4, it was basically the USA Iowa: cascading critical failures built what engineers called constructive instability throughout the reactor core, and kaboom.
This is why the giga laser of the Death Star 2 was much more limited but also more resilient and functional. They just also physically lacked enough titanium in the entire galactic market to finish it 🤣
Unpopular opinion: I don’t get why Boba Fett is in anyone’s Top 25 of favorite Star Wars characters. Ok, he looks kinda cool (as long as he’s not standing next to Vader), says a couple lines, then goes out like a sucka in an attempt at comic relief. We didn’t need more of him, and most certainly not “Oh, he’s actually just misunderstood. It’s really a 65-year old in that armor and we should respect our elders and help them with their groceries. Also, his ship was definitely not named ‘Slave I’.” On the bright side, aka across the galaxy from Tatooine, Book of Boba Fett did give us Danny Trejo training Rancors, which ruled.”
Boba Fett got a lot more attention in the EU novels, and was a fairly interesting character. He fell in the same category as X-wing content, niche but a decent pew pew sci fi archetype.
Having said that I agree with you. The most interesting phases in Mandalorian history took place 4k years before the movies and have been given almost no attention outside the Bioware Old Republic titles.

Ha yeah there's no way that burning that candle doesn't take years off your life.

Yeah, I love What We Do in the Shadows, it cracks me up every single time. I say put Matt Berry in everything!
I may have alluded to this unpopular opinion before, but.... *whispers almost inaudibly* I really did NOT like Andor. GULP!
Shun the non-believer!
I mean, I can get why someone wouldn't like Andor. It's the least Star Warsy show in the Star Wars universe.

I love this so much.

Where’s my Canderous Ordo series dammit??
Here you go, my personal take on the Battle of Althir 3 and Canderous’ role in it 😉
