Great newsletter again Jeff👍🏻 would definitely love a season 2 of the Acolyte, especially after the last episode, animation would definitely be a great way to go.
Thanks, Frank. I always appreciate the kind words. I’ve had an idea about how Disney should be using Star wars animation as kind of a “minor league.” I think I’ll write it next week.
I was at the Half Price Books flagship store on Wednesday, and discovered that the original Marvel Star Wars comics were reprinted and put out in hardcover. That took me WAAAAAAY back: you know what from the Marvel comics need to be canon again? Stone mites.
“More power than a Jedi. Deadlier than a Sith Lord. The only force in the universe that can defeat beskar. The Mandalorian and Grogu take on their most dangerous enemy…stone mites.”
(And I’ll add that the comics are also a great place to field-test movie/TV concepts. Dark Horse’s Aliens comics were certainly high-graded enough, even though so many, particularly “Labyrinth” and “Music of the Spears,” would have made great movies if left alone.
Jaxxon brings back some memories... of the green, anthropomorphic space rabbit of my childhood, Bucky O' Hare! I loved the cartoon show, toys, and arcade game. Who else remembers? I got into that in the early 1990s, but the character was created first for a comic book around 1977-78, which is around the same time as Jaxxon. Hmmm... maybe it's one of those weird creative coincidences.
Before I go, Jeff, I thought we could play an anagram game: you take a proper noun and rearrange the letters to create a description of that person. For example:

I was curious so I checked. Stone mites are actually back in canon although the Mouse hasn’t really done anything with them.
I always say the comics are where all the crazy Star Wars ideas that can’t make into a movie end up.
Cool. We now know the antagonists for the Mandalorian movie.

Don’t know why Dave Filoni won’t return my calls…

Seeing Darth Revan in that clip was *chef kiss*
It was so great!

Alec Guinness= genuine class
Ok, how about you try... Jeremy Irons.
Jeremy's... iron?
Now if you'll excuse me, I have a ball to bounce.
I ABSOLUTELY also thought of Capt. Bucky O'Hare. The character design is VERY similar.
