Kylo Boomhauer, illegitimate son of Dark Helmet and Dot Matrix (not sure how that worked) comes back to reclaim his rightful throne as Dark Lord of the Schwartz.
I was really hoping Starfighter would lean into scoundrel vibes, but I am an unrepentant Han Solo apologist. I'm with you on the 'escort the helpless kid' trope being overplayed, but will also be there opening day.
Speaking of memories of seeing it (1977) for the first time, I saw it with my father at the Imperial Theatre in Montreal, a grand old Edwardian showroom. We had no idea how predestined the name was. We ended up seeing the first three movies there over the years. We were up in the balcony for Empire, right at the edge, and let me tell you, that PoV flying opening was magical.
That’s so cool! Love that theater, it’s a shame there just aren’t many like it still there. There’s just something about those old theaters. In 2016 I saw the OT at the Majestic Theater here in Dallas. It’s a 1920’s theater that’s the last remaining one from what used to Theater Row.
SpaceBalls is back! I'm curious what a Mel Brooks movie looks like now. A lot of that old comedy style seems to be coming back, which I am all for. I mean, I never saw another Naked Gun movie coming out! I can't wait for movies to just be silly again and not take themselves so seriously.
Protecting a kid is a good concept, but you're right -- it's not the only concept.
Right, it worked well with Mando. And it certainly could work really well with Starfighter. We’ll see.
All I can say about a Spaceballs sequel: Kylo Boomhauer.

It’s just a shame that Kylo Dangermouse and Kylo Toot Braunstein have other ideas.

We’re easy marks for Disney.

I’d expect Filoni to be a much better CEO & producer than he actually is at making things.
I’m hoping as CEO, Dave will finally green light the Darth Jar Jar script I email to him every day.

It would be nice to just get back to dumb silly comedies. I’m here for it.
I started watching "Space Balls" with my 10-year-old last night. He enjoyed it.
The youth enjoying Mel brooks gives me hope for the future.
